Big boy

Had a half snow day today and went for lunch with the mommies at the indoor greenhouse, so nice in the winter to have that close by.

Had Henry's 4 month apt. and yep he is still huge! In the 95% for height and weight coming in at 17lbs and 7oz and 26 inches. Had to pack up the 6month clothes and break out the 9 and 12 month sizes. I just got him the perfect bucket hat for Maine  with little anchors imbrodured on it in the 6~12 m size and hope it will still fit him this summer! He is reaching all the developmental milestones like a champ and has almost gotten too big for his infant car seat.

Big boy before the shots!

Kansas Cowboy

Little Cowboy

Great Grandma and Uncle at the western store, check out those boots!

Got back late last night from a weekend in Kansas to visit great grandma Ada. Henry is a natural travler and did great! I think the trip to Europe 5 months pregnant helped :) Was a great trip and she was so thrilled to meet Henry. We were able to spend a day with her brother Lucky (got that name because he had 5 sisters) and have a meal with the family friends who bought her childhood farm.

We were in middle of nowhere Kansas (1 and a half hours out side of Wichita) and let me tell you there is nothing there, but farmland with windmills and oil wells. You simply could not be a vegetarian in the heart land thats for sure and you better like white bread and Foldgers coffee. I kept trying to get a salad all weekend but every time would get a bowl of the bagged iceberg lettuce, the kind with dried up carrot strips and cabbage, covered in ranch dressing, gross! I even saw a pickup on the side of the road full of road kill....it was an experience! The crazy thing is that this is America, there are more of us living in the middle of the country then on the coast and their is so much cultural differentness right here in our own country. I hope Henry can go play cowboy again when he gets older....he already has a head start, as no trip to Kansas would be complete without a trip to the western store and grandma and lucky got him outfitted.

Oh Henry!

It really is amazing to watch a human being grow. Henry has gone from infant to little baby boy in only four months, I thought I would have this little newborn for months but it really is such a short time. The changes are just awesome to watch and bitter sweet at the same time, every time he enters another stage its exciting but you also have a little sad feeling that he is no longer where he was before and never will be again. Even more reason to savor every day with the little man.

In the last month or so he has gotten more hair, eye lashes, more smiley and of course just bigger all around. He now grabs at his toys on the play mat instead of just laying there looking at them, he is engaged when read to and sung to and he loves dancing and singing. He is almost grown out of his car seat and now faces out when put in his front pack carrier. He is currently sleeping through the night 11-7 and his 6m clothes are starting to be too tight. It is such a wonder to watch him grow and we love him so much and are having so much fun with him. Henry is in for a fun week to come, we are going to set up his highchair and bouncing seat this weekend, uncle nick is coming up for a visit and he is going on his first plane ride to Kansas to see great grandma Ada next week.

Mommy's night out

Had a great night out on Saturday....it had been a while and I only had a four hour window before I had to pump but it did not stop us from having a few cocktails and shaking it a bit.

Back home

After a fun week in PDX we are back home. John was in NYC so Henry and I headed down to see family and friends and the extra help was welcome. We saw great grandmas, celebrated my best friends Stacey's birthday and got to see her super cute new house, painted pottery, had diner out, got to meet cousin Tobey and hang with uncle Nick it was an all around good time. Lucky the winter storms did not keep John from returning on time and we are all  home safe and sound settling back into our routine. I am off for a girls night out tomorrow night and we have a super bowl party on Sunday after church, yeah for weekends!
