Just roll with it

Adding to the list of first Henry has mastered rolling over; well at least one direction, he gets from his back to his stomach then freaks out because he can't get back over. It's a big step and after doing it once yesterday he can't stop! every time I put him down he is flipped over in no time flat, have to really watch him like a hawk now. In the last two weeks omewhere in between finding his feet and rolling over he also lost the swaddling at night, he just started breaking out of it and generally just out growing it so there you go, moving onward and upward.

Welcome Spring!

For once the calendar and weather lined up and the first weekend of sun in long time came right on que with the official start of spring. We had a fun weekend of dinners with friends, trips to the garden center and plenty of walks in the sunshine. Henry had a big week with daddy and discovered his feet. He is still not rolling over yet but getting close. He has officially moved up to the larger car seat and no longer able to be carried around in the infant one. Time really flies and its so amazing to watch him grow both physically and mentally, I really love being a mom and having a great partner really helps.

Kiss me I'm Irish

Yes, he is! He gets its more from my side then John but gets it from both of us none the less :) Started our St. Pattys day celebrations early with the Seattle St. Patrick's day dash 5k today. Between daylight savings time, having a baby and parking we ended up just jumping in toward the end but we crossed the finish line and then went out to breakfast. It was a fun morning none the less.

Ash Wednesday

hard to see... it's hard to keep a baby from rubbing their head

Ash Wednesday is always a special day for me but last years was the day I found out I was pregnant....wow how far we have come! Henry got his first ashes today and I bet its all the music but that boy loves church.

Last week at home

New PJs from grandma and the piggy bank mommy painted

After a nice weekend of visiting down in PDX I am now trying to enjoy my last week at home with Henry. I say trying to enjoy because I am so worried about next week I am having to make a concerted effort to be in the present and soak in these last few days. I know I am returning part time, and that we have the best possible child care solution set up but its still hard. It is going to be a tough transition but I hope that after a few weeks it will feel a bit better. It has been such a wonderful 5 months at home, I really did not know how I was going to feel being at home with a baby all day and it turns out.....that I love it! Sure there are moments or even afternoons where I feel a bit crazy but all in all its great. Henry and I have a routine and schedule down and he just gets more iterative and lively every day, I will miss having everyday with him.

On the other hand I am actually looking forward to going back to work a bit and getting back into the mix. Then feel guilty that I do.....oh the woahs of motherhood. No matter which road a mom chooses she will always have mixed emotions, and its hard no matter what you choose. To be continued.....
